You choose what program is best for you. If you are new to beekeeping, we can help you get started with information and connections to local bee associations.
We recommend new hobbyists start out with three hives in the Silver Membership. The reason is, if you only have one hive and the colony dies for whatever reason the first year, studies show the hobbyist oftentimes gets discouraged and quits. If you only have one hive, you don’t have the flexibility to combine a strong hive with a weak hive or to perform splits. For these reasons, our membership package starter kits begin with 3 hives.
